Compliance Considerations
Key Areas & Tool Limitations:
- Sourcing (Kimberley Process etc.):
- You can record the 'Source' of the rough stone.
- The tool does *not* connect to databases to verify KP certificates or conflict-free status. This requires external documentation and supply chain verification.
- Grading Standards (GIA, IGI, HRD):
- You can input grading details (Cut, Color, Clarity) based on external assessments (e.g., from a lab report).
- The tool uses standard grading scales in dropdowns but does *not* perform AI-based grading or guarantee alignment with official lab standards. "AI Suggestions" are illustrative placeholders.
- Labor Practices (Fair Wage etc.):
- Labor cost can be inputted, but the tool does not track hours, specific worker details, or validate wage compliance.
- Data Security & Audit:
- Data is stored only locally in the browser. Security depends on the user's device security.
- There is no secure, immutable audit trail for changes made within this local tool.
Recommendations for Users:
- Maintain separate, verifiable records for compliance documentation (KP certificates, lab reports, labor contracts, etc.).
- Use the 'Source' and 'Certification' fields in this tool accurately based on your verified documentation.
- Treat any "AI Suggestions" as potential pointers, not definitive compliance or grading results.
- For robust, auditable compliance management, especially in larger operations, consider integrated ERP or specialized supply chain tracking software.
- Regularly back up your data using the Export feature in Settings.
